Squire Dance Academy students learn the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) syllabus in classical ballet. It teaches students posture, grace, strength and balance. Ballet students learn grade-specific barre, centre, free movement and character work.
Jazz classes consist of a warm up, floor work, corner combinations, progressive routines and a cool down. Jazz is a dance style which allows students to move to a variety of music styles whilst having fun and improving fitness at the same time. Jazz classes focus mainly on strength, technique and flexibility, then putting it together in various turns, leaps/jumps, fast footwork and sharp movements. Don't forget, your creative flair and a big smile!
Tap is a very rhythmic style of dance that is a whole lot of fun to learn. It allows students to improve co-ordination, develop a strong knowledge of timing and lets their feet do the dancing!
Funk and Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a grounded style, working a lot on maintaining the core centre and isolations of the body. It is a very different and unique type of dance style. Funk/hip hop is the style of dance performed by dancers on music video clips, and featured on popular dance movies. Come and learn the latest moves!
